Alison Soens, Kasleberry

I am a graphic designer and textile artist who was born in Long Island, New York, and raised in St. Augustine, Florida. Since 2008, I have been living and working as a graphic artist in California.

I am inspired constantly by the beauty seen on this planet and the wonder of what lies beyond our universe. My respect for nature has been present in my art from a very young age. When adrift in my artistic process the feeling is reminiscent of the lightheartedness of my childhood. The freedom of getting lost through color and lines brings me down to a safe welcoming place. The ability to share my works with others and leave a positive impression is my greatest delight.

Currently, my artistic endeavors revolve around block printing on fabric and paper, watercolor and ink paintings, as well as experimenting with techniques like ice dyeing, bleach dyeing, and block printing on upcycled clothing. Additionally, I explore the creation of Cyanotype “Sun Prints” on fabric. Throughout my artistic journey, I strive to be environmentally conscious and minimize the use of Earth’s resources.
